UPLC tracks FCC letters on Manassas
June 27, 2006

FCC's Enforcement Bureau sent two letters on June 16 to ComTek and the City of Manassas about complaints from local amateur radio operators, reported the UPLC in its weekly news report.

One letter responded to ComTek's preliminary validation study and supplementary full final report that was filed in response to a March 7 letter from the FCC.

ComTek/Manassas has 30 days to "file a report detailing its compliance with the Part 15 emission limits" and 20 days to file a report detailing its response to and resolution of the interference complaint.

The second letter directed ComTek/Manassas to do more tests in response to five amateur complaints near Manassas, reported the UPLC.

Measurements are to be taken during times of peak use of the BPL network and reported to the FCC in 30 days (www.uplc.utc.org).
